Royal insiders have told the media that Prince William and Kate Middleton are more than likely to marry next year, with the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand seen as the perfect honeymoon for the couple. The Prince is under pressure to name a date, and because William was so well received earlier this year when he visited the country, New Zealand is seen as the ideal honeymoon destination for the two.
The insider told us: “Everyone was amazed at how well he was received. There is a long tradition of new royal couples visiting the important Commonwealth countries as soon as possible. This would be a great opportunity if the timing holds together.”
Next year is the most likely date, because 2012 not only has the Olympics, but it is the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee as well. “Their wedding could be overshadowed by the Queen’s celebrations. Or, even worse, they could risk eclipsing the Queen altogether, which would be a disaster for the family.”
Only time will tell if 2011 is the royal wedding year, but according to our sources, it is a safe bet. Now let’s just hope this is a royal marriage that lasts!
